"A slip on the Rimutakas has closed the nothbound lane."

Thgis was reported on 2ZB all morning, sounds okay?  Think about it.  The North bound lane is on the other side of the road to the hill where a slip comes from.  Why are these incompetent people kept on? If they to be kept, how about someone to idiot proof what they say?
